Immunizations

Protecting Your Health and Community

Vaccines are one of the most effective ways to protect individuals and communities from serious, preventable diseases. At our clinic, we follow the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) guidelines to ensure children and adults receive vaccines at the recommended ages and intervals.

Why Immunizations Matter

  • Prevent Disease: Vaccines protect against illnesses like measles, whooping cough, polio, hepatitis, and more.
  • Protect the Vulnerable: Immunizing children and adults helps protect those who cannot be vaccinated, including newborns and individuals with compromised immune systems.
  • Prevent Outbreaks: Routine vaccination reduces the risk of disease outbreaks in schools, communities, and workplaces.

Tracking Vaccinations with ImmTrac2

Stay on track. Stay Protected!

We participate in ImmTrac2, the Texas Immunization Registry. ImmTrac helps keep a secure record of your child’s vaccines and ensures easy access to their immunization history when needed for school, daycare, or medical care.

Participation is voluntary and available for both children and adults with consent.

Measles on the rise

Recent Outbreak

Measles cases are rising in several areas of the U.S., including Texas. Measles is highly contagious and can cause serious complications, especially in young children. The MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine is safe and highly effective. Ensuring your child is fully vaccinated is the best way to prevent the spread of measles and protect public health. If you or a loved-one has known exposure or symptoms, please visit the nearest health care provider as soon as possible to prevent the spread.

Common Symptoms

Measles symptoms appear 7 to 14 days after contact with the virus. Measles typically begins with:

  • High fever (may spike to more than 104°)
  • Cough
  • Runny nose
  • Red, watery eyes
  • Rash (3-5 days after symptoms)

Texas Vaccine Exemptions and Waivers

How to Obtain a Waiver

  •  Texas allows vaccine exemptions for:
  • Medical reasons (requires a signed physician’s statement)
  • Reasons of conscience, including religious beliefs (requires an official DSHS affidavit)
  • Accepted by public schools and childcare facilities.
